We are the BoardSpring Group

Bridging the space between a brilliant strategic plan and the momentum needed to fund a mission.

Nonprofit leaders are told that to improve fundraising, they need to "inspire" their boards. We disagree. You don’t need more inspiration; you need better plumbing.

At BoardSpring, we’ve moved past the "why" and focused entirely on the "how." The difference between a stagnant board and a high-performing one isn't the size of their Rolodex - it’s the quality of their system.

The problem isn’t a lack of passion - it’s a lack of infrastructure.

Our Philosophy

Action, not anxiety.

Who We Are

Meet the Founder

Kate Groninger, PhD (Princeton; St Andrews) spent two decades inside world-class museums - the Guggenheim, the Art Institute of Chicago, the Detroit Institute of Arts - and with smaller scrappy nonprofits fueled by grassroots grit. Along the way, she discovered that successful fundraising doesn’t result from the Midas touch- its the result of a system.

Fundraising anxiety is the same everywhere. Whether a board member is a local business owner or a billionaire, they want to know how to help without feeling awkward. They need behavioral infrastructure and workflows that ensure no volunteer has to ask  "What do I say?" or "Who should I call?"

BoardSpring bottles proven strategies for the small and mid-sized nonprofits Kate cares about most like food banks, animal shelters, and local health centers. BoardSpring doesn’t just offer training - it offers the functional workflows that ensure no volunteer ever has to guess how to make an impact.

Our Method

  • Eliminate the anxiety of the ‘Give or Get’ with an approach to board fundraising that is structured, measurable, and habitual.

  • The listening, the thank yous, the invitations will help turn a nervous board member into a confident advocate.

  • Fundraising shouldn’t rely on one or two board or staff superstars. Development becomes part of every board member’s role.

  • Small, consistent stewardship actions lead to major institutional shifts.

The Results

  • A repeatable engine that compounds over time.

  • A tool designed for the real world where time is the scarcest resource.

  • Scripts and cadences for organizations of varied sizes and types.

  • A system rooted in how people actually build habits.
